Part of the Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge, 800-acre Champion Lake provides wonderful opportunities for viewing nature and wildlife.
Fishing is allowed, and small boats may be used with a trolling motor.

Birding (photo)
Liberty is located along the path of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, and the entire Liberty-Dayton area provides enthusiasts the chance to view thousands of species in their major migratory stopovers.

Cedar Hill Park provides a perfect setting for birdwatchers and outdoor enthusiasts. Picnic tables and group shelter with grills, hiking trails, primitive campsites, a pier, and restroom facilities are available. Kayaks and canoes can be launched in Lake Charlotte, one of the nicest lakes in Southeast Texas.

Visitors will enjoy swimming facilities, baseball diamonds, playground equipment, covered pavilion, picnic tables and a walking/jogging trail. Restrooms are available.
Located next to the historic French Cemetery.

A stocked 3-acre pond (site of the annual KidFish event) is also located on the park grounds.

Liberty Opry On The Square

Live from the Historic Park Theater! The award-winning Liberty Opry On The Square is a country-western, oldies, gospel and comedy show the entire family will enjoy. Performances are held every Saturday evening (except holidays) at 7:30 p.m. Contact the Opry for further information, or check their web site for schedules and performances.

Pecan Meadow provides shooting facilities with ranges for lighted skeet, lighted 5-stand, 15-station sporting clays and trap.
