Liberty & Dayton
Festivities include a lighted nightime parade, music, inflatable moonwalks for the kids, mini-train ride, edible treats, entertainment, and the opportunity to visit with Santa himself. Admission is free. A joint effort by the City of Liberty, City of Dayton and the Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dayton Ole Tyme Days
Dayton Community Center
Promoting the city of Dayton while raising funds for local youth scholarships. Features a car show, carnival, barbecue cook-off, crafts, a “Li’l Miss/Mr. Dayton” pageant, tractor show, Jr. chili competition, bake-off, and plenty of live music.
Held annually in the spring, this two-day event (Friday & Saturday) features booths with arts and crafts, food vendors, a barbecue cookoff contest, book and bake sale, carnival rides, strolling entertainers, a Friday night street dance with live music, walking parade, artisans and much more. Admission is free. Shuttle services from offsite parking areas to the festival grounds are available on Saturday. The Mayhaw Festival promotes the native Mayhaw fruit, widely used in making jams and jellies, with a parade, carnival, gospel singing, pageant, barbecue cook-off, crafts, domino tournament and open house at the historic Pounds Home south of town.
Trinity Valley Exposition Fair and Rodeo
FM 563 south of Liberty
Held during the month of October. Festivities include the opening day parade, baby parade, kick-off dance, ranch rodeo, barbecue cook-off, rodeo queens contest, trailride, nightly carnival and rodeo, musical entertainment and much more. In addition to the annual fair and rodeo the Trinity Valley Exposition facilities host various events throughout the year. A schedule of these events can be found on the TVE website.
